Join us and two authors, one local and one visiting, for a night of fantastical worlds that mix with today’s issues.
Beasts: Beginning of the End by Ana Levley: Humans in the future are split into humans and lessers after the world is destroyed by climate change and nuclear war. Since there are no longer animals or plants the seemingly utopian society that survived in a dome resorts to using lessers as… nourishment. Atlia discovers this when she is framed and sent to the farm as she writes back to the past telling her story to change the future.
Unicorn Hunting by A.R. Hellbender: Caught between her family’s expectations and her own conscience, reluctant unicorn hunter Caoilinn “Cal” Valderan questions the morals of slaying these mystical creatures, and finds herself in a position where she must choose between them and humanity. In this coming of age story, Cal must not only defend her principles and values, but also figure out her crush on the girl next door, as she finds herself caught in a battle between light and darkness, but she must find answers to what others dare not even to question…
Ana Levley has always been a storyteller. After surviving a difficult childhood, Ana began to use her storytelling abilities to change peoples minds and hearts about different progressive issues. This San Diego author published her first novel called “Beasts: Beginning of the End” and made waves in the publishing world. She has been touring throughout the US. She has just started her northern tour as she finished her southwest tour to Florida and back with 16 book signings. She is so excited to introduce totally different worlds, animals, perspectives, and characters into people’s lives. She hopes that her writing moves people to act and see real issues differently, and that it will make people rethink about what they currently are doing. She hopes it challenges people to be the heroes of their own lives, as well as others. May we all be heroes striving to bring peace to a world that needs it so much.
A.R. Hellbender is the author of Unicorn Hunting and the upcoming Unicorn Revenge. She lives in Washington with her husband, three dogs, and two cats.
