Strong Female Characters

April 16, 2016 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

free

We’re launching this new exciting series with an amazing panel of women. With Ellen Urbani, Rene Denfeld, Karen Karbo, and Cathy Lamb we’ll be talking about “flawed” female characters, and how strength is found in those flaws. Often female characters are judged for being imperfect, but how can writing these women in this way actually be showing her strength, and what can “flawed women” teach us? How can something that is perceived as a weakness actually be a strength?

Strong Female Characters is an ongoing series where we will highlight the issues facing women writers and women characters. We will host 3-4 local female authors every quarter (approximately) and have a discussion that will focus on one or more of these issues, and let the discussion organically flow from there. Thanks to Soapstone for supporting this series!
